Imperial Yellow Granite Setts, also known within our range as Elara Yellow Granite Setts, are the same natural yellow granite product. Imperial Yellow and Elara refer to the same stone in our product range. The granite features warm yellow, gold, cream and buff tones, with natural mineral flecks and tonal variation that give the finished paving a lively and distinctive appearance.

These 200 x 100 x 50 mm granite setts are sawn and lightly tumbled to soften the edges and create a traditional, weathered character. Compared with precisely sawn and flamed setts, the tumbled finish gives a more established and rustic appearance, making them particularly suitable for heritage-style paving, courtyards, traditional driveways, paths, borders and landscaped areas.

Elara / Imperial Yellow Granite naturally varies from pale cream and sandy yellow through to warmer gold and amber tones. Mineral markings, darker flecks and variations between individual setts are normal characteristics of natural granite and are part of the intended appearance rather than defects.

Made from dense natural granite, these 50 mm thick setts provide a robust paving solution for residential and commercial landscaping. They are suitable for driveways, pedestrian areas, courtyards, edging, borders and traditional streetscape applications. Their compact 200 x 100 mm format also allows flexible laying patterns, including stretcher bond, herringbone and coursed layouts.

Important: These granite setts are traditionally laid with approximately 8 mm joints. Our prices and pack coverage are calculated using the net stone area, excluding joints. A pack containing 375 pieces of 200 x 100 mm setts provides 7.5 m² of actual stone. When laid with approximately 8 mm joints, the finished paved area will be greater than the net stone area.

Elara Yellow Granite Setts are particularly suited to projects where a completely uniform surface is not required. The combination of warm natural colour, softened edges and individual stone variation creates the traditional character associated with established granite sett paving, while retaining the durability, weather resistance and relatively low maintenance requirements of natural granite.

In terms of thickness, 50 mm is the most commonly used option for residential applications. It is well suited for standard driveways and can comfortably support cars and light commercial vehicles, including vans and small trucks, when installed correctly on a full mortar bed with a suitable sub-base. This makes 50 mm setts the typical choice for domestic paving projects where both durability and cost efficiency are important.

For heavier-duty applications, thicker setts such as 80 mm or 100 mm are used. These are generally specified for public areas, commercial yards, access roads, or locations subject to frequent heavy vehicle traffic. The additional thickness provides greater load-bearing capacity and long-term structural stability under sustained pressure.

In addition, thinner granite setts options, typically around 30 mm and usually supplied as sawn setts, are more suitable for light-use areas. These are commonly used in patios, garden paths, edging, and as decorative borders or dividing lines within patio slab layouts. While they retain the visual character of traditional granite setts, they are not intended for load-bearing applications.
